Hi! My name is Matthew Brock, and I am the owner and operator of Computer Solutions:AZ.
Since 1988, I have helped Individuals and Businesses with their computer needs.
I was fascinated with Electronics growing up, and I was the kid you'd see pulling discarded radios, record players, etc., from people's trash so I could take them home, pull them apart and see what I could learn!
Two weeks out of High School, I talked my way into a job operating the mainframe computers for a Bank in Richmond, IN. After a year, I moved to the same job for a major retailer in Dayton, OH called Elder-Beerman.
Eventually, I made it to Tucson, AZ in 1984. I worked at Radio Shack and went to a Technical College and got my Degree in Electronics and Robotics.
While there, I bought a Commodore 128 and taught myself how to program it, and some of the teachers I became friends with invited me to join their private little "Commodore Computer Club."
During this time, my Dad bought a Tandy 1000, which was an IBM compatible. This mighty machine had 2 floppy drives, DOS 1.1, a green screen with a dot matrix printer, and only had 256K of memory. I had to learn it because my Dad could never figure anything out with it!
I made the transition to the DOS platform, and began teaching myself how to work on it, and eventually started building them. Friends asked me to help them with their problems, and eventually I started helping businesses on the side.
Eventually, my business clients told me that although they really liked me and my work, they really needed me to be available during business hours. So, with the supreme confidence of youth, I decided that being the sole breadwinner with a 3 year old daughter and a 1 month old son made it the perfect time to quit my job and start consulting full-time!
I've learned a lot over the last, nearly 30 years, and I could never have dreamed how far we would have come in this timeframe. I've never lost my love of computers and technology, nor my fascination with how everything works and how to fix it when it doesn't work.
I look forward to helping you with your projects and dreams.
